what does the application involve?
A short application that tells us about you — your values, your lifestyle, and what you are looking for. Every application is reviewed by a member of our team. We do not accept everyone, and we do not apologise for that. The integrity of the community depends on it. You will hear from us by email.
is this a blind date?
No, because it isn't a date. A date is two people who have agreed to spend an evening together; an encounter is a brief, in-person hello between two members whose plans happened to align. You don't book anything, you don't sit across from anyone, and you're under no obligation to engage. A brief hello if you choose, then you go on with your day or your evening.
The twelve hours after the encounter exist for reflection — and to decide if you'd like to meet again. piano piano doesn't arrange dates. It arranges the moment before.
The blind part is true in one sense — you don't know who you're meeting until you arrive at the venue, when the live selfies are exchanged. We do this on purpose. The profile-and-photo model has been the dominant way people meet for fifteen years now, and the results are in. It hasn't worked. What's left when you take the profile out is closer to the way people met for most of human history — in person, in their actual lives, briefly enough that no one has to pretend.
who is piano piano for?
London singles, typically 30 and above, who value authenticity over volume. Our members are not defined by job titles or status — they are defined by effort, kindness, and a genuine desire to meet someone in real life. is this matchmaking?
No. We do not pair specific people together based on compatibility scores or curated profiles. We coordinate proximity — placing two verified members in the same location at the same time, based on plans they have already made. What happens from there is entirely natural.
how do i stay safe?
Every member will be identity-verified before joining. Encounters always take place in public settings you have chosen yourself. Your name, phone number, and contact details are never shared unless both parties confirm mutual interest after an encounter. Our community standards are actively maintained — members who behave disrespectfully lose their membership.
